XBiotech announced positive Phase II results for its anti-IL-1α monoclonal antibody vilamakitug (Natrunix) in treating refractory metastatic colorectal cancer. The investigator-sponsored TASKIN trial met its primary efficacy endpoint with 61.3% 12-month overall survival in the treatment arm versus 55.7% in the control arm. Notably, exploratory analysis showed a statistically significant 62% reduction in death risk for right-sided colon tumors, a historically aggressive subtype with high unmet medical needs.
