Why Option Care Health Stock Skyrocketed on Tuesday

Option Care Health agreed to be acquired by McKesson and private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice for $32.05 per share, valuing the company at approximately $5.8 billion. The deal represents a 37% premium to Monday's closing price and is expected to close in the first half of 2027. CD&R will hold 51% of the company while McKesson retains 49%, with a framework allowing McKesson to acquire CD&R's stake in the future.
