U.S. accounts for 96% of global Bitcoin ATM losses in H1 2026, Finbold report finds

The global Bitcoin ATM network declined from 39,158 machines at end of 2025 to 28,322 by June 30, 2026, losing 10,836 ATMs (27.7%). The U.S. accounted for 95.8% of losses, dropping from 30,617 to 20,237 machines. The contraction was largely driven by Bitcoin Depot's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in May 2026. Despite the decline, the U.S. remains the world's largest Bitcoin ATM market with 71.5% of global machines.
