Telenor receives approval to acquire GlobalConnect's consumer business in Norway

The Norwegian Competition Authority has approved Telenor's NOK 6 billion acquisition of GlobalConnect's consumer fibre business, adding approximately 125,000 customers. The deal is conditional on remedies including divesting overlapping infrastructure and opening the acquired network to competitors. The transaction is expected to complete in autumn 2026 and will increase Telenor's consumer fibre market share from 22% to 29%.
