Following Warren Buffett's retirement, new Berkshire Hathaway CEO Greg Abel has reshuffled the company's $359 billion portfolio, elevating Alphabet to the No. 3 position ahead of longtime holdings Coca-Cola and Bank of America. Abel has aggressively purchased $17 billion in Alphabet stock, drawn by the company's dominant search market position and rapidly growing AI-powered Google Cloud business, which saw 82% revenue growth in Q2.
