Stantec joint venture selected by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to advance coastal resilience on Charleston’s peninsula

Stantec and Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson (JMT) have been awarded a US$150 million contract by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to design coastal storm risk management infrastructure for Charleston's peninsula. The project, part of a US$1.2 billion total program, will involve designing over eight miles of integrated coastal infrastructure including storm surge barriers, floodwalls, levees, pump stations, and nature-based features to protect the historic community from increasing storm surge vulnerability.
