SpaceX Just Made Its Biggest Acquisition Yet. Here's What It Means for the Stock.

SpaceX announced a $60 billion all-stock acquisition of Anysphere, developer of AI coding platform Cursor. The deal, which SpaceX was obligated to complete after exercising an option in April, will result in less than 3% shareholder dilution. While integrating Cursor into xAI could strengthen SpaceX's AI competitiveness against rivals like OpenAI and Anthropic, the deal won't significantly impact stock performance in the near term due to months-long closing timeline, integration challenges, and Cursor's current unprofitability. SpaceX stock remains expensive at over 820x estimated 2027 earnings.
