Smith+Nephew announced the US launch of its next generation LEAF Patient Monitoring System, a cloud-based platform designed to prevent hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPIs). The system uses wearable sensors to monitor patient mobility and improve turning protocol adherence. According to the company, the LEAF system monitors over 150,000 patients annually, reduces HAPI odds by up to 73%, and delivers up to $1.8 million in estimated savings per critical care facility.
