Six in Ten CCOs Say the Communications Function Has Not Caught Up With Its Mandate

A new Communications Modernization Index survey of 50 chief communications officers at major companies reveals that while 85% of CEOs understand communications' business value, only 54% have measurement that demonstrates value to CFOs. CCOs report having influence at the leadership table but lack the systems, skills, and AI capabilities to deliver at scale. Two-thirds expect flat or declining budgets over the next 12 months, with expanding mandates cited as a top pain point.
