New Cross-Study Analysis from Spherix Global Insights Combines Physician, Dietitian and Patient Chart Data to Show Access Barriers Still Curbing Xphozah Uptake Ahead of the TDAPA Cliff

A new analysis by Spherix Global Insights reveals that access barriers, not efficacy issues, are limiting Xphozah (tenapanor) uptake in the dialysis hyperphosphatemia market. Nephrologists report they would nearly triple Xphozah use without reimbursement and coverage obstacles. However, the drug faces persistence challenges with gastrointestinal tolerability causing discontinuation rates to double to 8%. The findings also show physicians significantly overestimate phosphorus control and combination therapy use among patients. As the TDAPA reimbursement program expires at the end of 2026, phosphate-lowering therapies will face a flattened competitive landscape.
