Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, to Divest CDMO Business to Lonza

Lonza has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany for a mid-triple-digit million-euro amount. The transaction, expected to close in mid-2027, includes CDMO operations at sites in California, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Indiana. The deal allows Merck KGaA to focus on innovation-driven businesses while providing Lonza with expanded US manufacturing capacity and capabilities.
