Eli Lilly's phase three trial results for retatrutide (TRIUMPH-2) show strong weight loss outcomes, with 59.5% of participants no longer classified as obese and over half losing 20% of body weight. The triple agonist drug also reduced blood sugar levels and showed additional benefits for arthritis pain and sleep apnea. Retatrutide appears to outperform competing weight-loss drugs like tirzepatide, Wegovy, and Ozempic. Lilly plans to submit a biologics license application to the FDA in Q1 2027.
