Joint Commission Enterprise Names Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, Chief Operating Officer

Joint Commission announced the appointment of Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, as chief operating officer, marking the first time a nurse has held this position in the organization's 75-year history. Dr. Grubbs, who brings over two decades of healthcare leadership experience across clinical operations, patient safety, and quality improvement, will assume the role on January 1, 2027, succeeding James Merlino, MD, who becomes president and CEO.
