Hengrui Pharma and Kailera Therapeutics Present Ribupatide Clinical Data at ADA 2026

Hengrui Pharma and Kailera Therapeutics announced clinical trial results for ribupatide, a GLP-1/GIP receptor dual agonist in development as both an oral pill and weekly injection for obesity treatment. Phase 2 oral data showed mean weight loss of up to 12.1% with 38.6% of participants achieving 15% weight loss at 26 weeks, with low gastrointestinal side effects. Phase 1 injection data demonstrated similar safety and efficacy across Asian and non-Asian populations. Both companies plan to advance to Phase 3 trials, with global oral trials potentially starting in H1 2027.
