Frist Art Museum Presents Immersive Exhibition of Contemporary Artists Who Reimagine Humanity’s Relationship with the Environment

The Frist Art Museum in Nashville is presenting 'Shimmer: Dreaming the Posthuman,' an exhibition featuring 17 contemporary artists exploring humanity's interconnectedness with nature and other species through analog and digital technologies. Running from September 25, 2026 through January 3, 2027, the exhibition uses CGI, virtual reality, and other emerging technologies to visualize posthuman perspectives on environmental crises, species extinction, and ecological relationships.
