Food Lion to Acquire Five Winn-Dixie Stores in Southern Georgia, Exceeding 2026 Growth Plan

Food Lion has agreed to acquire five Winn-Dixie stores in Southern Georgia, expanding its Georgia presence to 51 locations. The acquisition will bring Food Lion's new store openings to 15 by end of 2026, exceeding its original growth target of 10 stores. The stores will reopen as Food Lion locations in mid-December, with approximately 375 new hires expected.
