CRISPR Therapeutics Provides Update on Zugocabtagene Geleucel (Zugo-cel) in Refractory Rheumatologic Autoimmune Diseases

CRISPR Therapeutics reported encouraging Phase 1 clinical data for zugo-cel, its allogeneic CAR-T cell therapy, across multiple autoimmune disease indications. In systemic sclerosis, 83% of patients achieved clinical response at Month 3 with maintained responses through Month 6+. All nine idiopathic inflammatory myopathy patients showed moderate to major improvement. The therapy demonstrated a favorable safety profile with no serious adverse events reported across 21 dosed patients. Dose escalation studies are ongoing with higher CAR-T cell expansion observed at increased dose levels.
