CNI Launches First Grain Unit Train From Expanded Illinois TGM Facility

Canadian National Railway (CNI) successfully shipped its first unit train from Total Grain Marketing's expanded grain elevator in Lis, Illinois on September 16, 2026. The expansion adds 3.1 million bushels of storage capacity and increases receiving capacity to 85,000 bushels per hour, enabling unit trains to be loaded in just eight hours. CNI moved a record 2.50 MMT of grain in August 2026, exceeding the previous August record, reflecting strong demand and efficient operations as the new crop year begins.
