BYD Australia and Smart partner to make EVs more affordable for Australians

BYD and Smart announced a strategic partnership to make electric vehicle ownership more accessible to Australians through novated leasing. The partnership integrates salary packaging support at the point of sale, providing tax advantages and clearer cost understanding for eligible employees across 2.5 million workers. BYD's Australian sales have more than doubled year-to-date, with BEVs now accounting for 23% of the new vehicle market in June 2026.
