Businesses accelerate their climate adaptation investments yet just 15% have fully quantified the financial impact of climate-related risks

A Capgemini survey of 2,100 executives reveals that while 68% of organizations are prioritizing climate adaptation and 83% plan to increase spending on it, significant gaps remain in execution. Only 15% have fully quantified climate-related financial impacts, and organizations falling behind on net zero goals surged from 1% in 2025 to 11% in 2026. Additionally, 29% have postponed net zero objectives. The research shows sustainability investments are generating positive ROI, with nearly 70% reporting net-positive returns, yet measurement challenges persist, particularly in tracking Scope 3 emissions.
