Benitec Biopharma Releases Full Year 2026 Financial Results and Provides Operational Update

Benitec Biopharma announced completion of 12-month follow-up for all six Cohort 1 patients in its BB-301 Phase 1b/2a trial for oculopharyngeal muscular dystrophy (OPMD)-related dysphagia, with clinically meaningful improvements observed. Cohort 2 is fully enrolled with three patients safely treated. The company held a Type C meeting with the FDA regarding pivotal study design and plans to initiate the pivotal trial in mid-2027. Benitec reported $180 million in cash as of June 30, 2026, with operating expenses of $51.2 million for fiscal year 2026.
