Alibaba Cloud Revenue Jumps 45%. Is the Profit Plunge and China E-Commerce Slide Cause for Concern?

The decline was driven by a 75% jump in capital expenditures for AI infrastructure, a 550 million euro EU fine, and negative free cash flow. However, the company's AI and cloud business surged 45% to 48.4 billion yuan, offsetting weakness in domestic e-commerce which declined 8%, prompting cautious optimism from investors.
