AI Data Centers Need Power Now. Can NuScale Deliver in Time?

NuScale Power, the only company with Nuclear Regulatory Commission approval for small modular reactors (SMRs), is positioned to help meet surging AI data center power demands. However, the company's technology won't be deployable until the early 2030s at the earliest, making it a long-term prospect rather than a near-term solution. NuScale has one committed project in Romania expected operational by 2033 and is pursuing additional deals, including potential partnerships with the Tennessee Valley Authority.
