Regeneron’s Ebola Antibody Recommended by World Health Organization for Investigational Use in Response to Current Bundibugyo Ebolavirus Outbreak

The World Health Organization's Therapeutics Advisory Group has recommended maftivimab, a component of Regeneron's Inmazeb, for clinical trial evaluation against Bundibugyo ebolavirus following WHO's declaration of a public health emergency in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. Maftivimab has demonstrated broad in vitro activity against multiple Ebola species and has been safely administered to hundreds of patients as part of Inmazeb, which is already FDA-approved for Zaire ebolavirus treatment.
