CPABC: Population growth in Greater Victoria slows to multi-year low

Greater Victoria's population growth slowed significantly to 0.7% in 2025, adding only 3,129 residents to reach 445,090 people—the smallest increase since 2011. International migration declined 83.6% year-over-year, while housing affordability remains a major challenge with single-family home prices at $1.16 million. Apartment rents surged 7% annually, with larger units jumping 20.8%, as the housing market experienced slower sales activity in the first half of 2026.
